Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DOES NEW PERSPECTIVES OFFER?

We provide Intensive Outpatient as well out Outpatient Treatment. Intensive outpatient treatment is the highest level of outpatient care, and it involves more than nine hours of clinical services each week. Our Intensive Outpatient program is a viable option for those that have completed higher levels of care but are looking for intensive treatment as they live on their own. Clients will typically be in IOP for eight to ten weeks so they will never have the same group twice and will experience a wide array of therapeutic interventions.

We also believe that outpatient treatment is an essential step in the continuum of care. Outpatient provides accountability, stability, and insightful clinical therapies to help educate you about relapse prevention strategies and address recovery-related goals or concerns. You will receive up to eight hours of individual and group therapy sessions alongside therapists and addiction counselors every week.

Additionally, we provide the highly-effective Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), which helps our clients reach meaningful sobriety and long-term abstinence. By engaging in evidence-based clinical therapies alongside medical interventions such as Suboxone therapy, it allows the client a better chance at long-term sobriety. The purpose of the medication is to relieve withdrawal symptoms and keep someone on their treatment regimen.

WHAT IS MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT?

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the administration of medication including counseling and behavioral therapies to treat substance use disorders. MAT exists to provide a “whole-client” approach to managing all factors of substance use disorders.

MAT is used to treat opioid addictions such as heroin or prescription opiates, and the medications provide stability to brain chemistry, block euphoric effects of opioids or alcohol, normalize body functions, and relieve psychological cravings. MAT improves client survival, increases retention in treatment, and increases clients’ ability to maintain employment post-treatment.

WHAT ARE NEW PERSPECTIVES HOURS?

New Perspective in Boynton Beach is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

HOW LONG IS TREATMENT?

Treatment will vary from one person to another depending on the severity of their addiction. The team of addiction specialists will thoroughly assess all aspects of your situation, and then make a determination on what will be the right fit. Clients will typically be in IOP for eight to ten weeks.
